Debate on Function and Beauty at Matter Group

Publicado el 15 May 2022

Last Thursday, May 5, Slow Studio participated in the presentation on Best Practices, Utilitas and Venustas: complement or rivalry. The event took place at the Matter Group venue in Barcelona, organized by the sanitary systems company Oli and presented by Natalia Ojeda, CMO of Matter, Jordi Antonijoan, CEO of Matter, and Joan Pascual, Commercial Director.

The presentations and subsequent panel discussion on the relationship between function and beauty in design and sustainability featured the interesting participation of Barcelona’s most renowned architecture and interior design studios: Alonso Balaguer and Corina Tanasescu from ABAA, Josep Puigdomenech from The Room Studio, Marina Cella from External Reference, Anna Llonch from Cierto Estudio, Andrea Navarro from GCA, Alicia Casals from Nomo Studio, and Anna Bonet de Garcés from Seta Bonet.

In this exchange space, the constant concern for the use of differentiating and innovative solutions in harmony with sustainability was highlighted.

In Slow Studio’s case, we presented the House in Sierra de Ordal project, where function was represented by the bioclimatic, zero-consumption behavior of the construction, and beauty by the use of natural, breathable, minimally processed, and low-impact materials.
