SLOW STUDIO PARTICIPATES IN THE FIRST COAC BARCELONA PROFESSIONAL BREAKFAST

 

Last Monday, January 26, Slow Studio participated in the first session of the Professional Breakfasts promoted by the Barcelona Branch of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC), an initiative focused on marketing and sales in architecture.

This first session was dedicated to marketing and sales strategies for architectural firms. The session was opened by Sandra Bestraten, president of the Barcelona Branch, followed by moderator Cecilia Solé, who introduced the two guests invited as benchmarks and success stories of firms that have successfully implemented outstanding marketing and sales strategies in their professional practices: our partner Jade Serra participated on behalf of Slow Studio, and Marc Zaballa represented Lagula Arquitectes.

At Slow Studio, we would like to thank the Barcelona Branch of the COAC for promoting meeting spaces like this, which are so necessary for sharing lessons learned, doubts, and also mistakes; the Pla de Xoc group, for co-organizing the initiative and working actively for the dignity of the profession; and Lagula Arquitectes, for their generosity and clarity when sharing real day-to-day professional experiences.

The conversation revolved around questions that directly address the way we practice architecture today: what product we actually offer as a firm, how we explain the value of what we do, how we manage the client relationship, and how we integrate marketing and sales within a broader process of professionalization.

During the session, the importance of understanding architecture as a service and a process, beyond the finished work or a specific style, was highlighted. Discussing budgets, timelines, fees, commissions, and expectations is—necessarily—part of the same professional commitment with which we approach the project.
