Slow Studio in the 2022-2023 Sustainable Architecture Firms Selection

The magazine CIC Architecture and Sustainability publishes the reflections of more than 100 architecture firms in its issue Featured Selection of Sustainable Architecture Firms 2022-2023 What is sustainable architecture?, among which is Slow Studio.
Although certainly not new, the debate surrounding Sustainability gains strength every day from all perspectives and permeates all areas of life with a holistic sense. Beyond principles and values, building in a sustainable and responsible manner has become a necessity given the inflection point at which we find ourselves.
That is why CIC Architecture and Sustainability asked us: what is sustainable architecture and what specifically do we mean when we speak of it?, with the aim of summarizing in their latest issue what sustainable architecture means to them and the path it must follow. We share the complete excerpt from Slow Studio.

What is sustainable architecture for Slow Studio?
For Slow Studio, conscious, sustainable, healthy architecture in harmony with the planet is the only way to build a world in which future generations can live. Based on the principles of bioclimatic architecture, we construct buildings that reduce energy consumption passively and cover the remaining demand through renewable energy to achieve zero-consumption buildings. These zero-consumption buildings must also generate zero impact on the planet and people, which is why they are built with natural materials, free of toxins, locally sourced, and with minimal impact throughout their entire life cycle on the environment.
