Slow Studio at the Green Week of the College of Architects of Valencia

 

Slow Studio was invited to inaugurate the Sustainable Innovation Forum, organized by the Col·legi Territorial d’Arquitectes de València (CTAV) as part of the 2025 Green Architecture Week, an initiative held to coincide with World Environment Day.

Our partner Jade Serra was one of the invited speakers at this event, which focused on the current challenges facing the architectural sector in the face of the climate emergency. Under the title “Sustainability Here and Now,” the forum highlighted the urgency of implementing sustainable architecture principles in the present, moving beyond the view that sustainability is a long-term goal.

 

 

During her presentation, Jade outlined Slow Studio’s work methodology and how it integrates sustainability criteria from the initial design phases. In her talk, she addressed how it is possible to develop architectural projects with low environmental impact today, by applying passive strategies, local materials, and regenerative solutions that are already available to the sector.

 

 

The forum, conceived as a space for collective reflection to reinforce the active role of architects in the ecological transition, featured an intensive program centered on sustainability. In addition to the inaugural conference, a round table was held with leading professionals in architecture and sustainability, including Lola Castelló (architect and professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València), Marta García Chico (architect and sustainability technician at MGC studio), and Tomás Llavador (architect and urban planner), moderated by Pedro Llopis representing the CTAV.

The event continued the following day with technical training sessions, presentations of innovative projects, an international exhibition on sustainable architecture brought from Paris, and a networking session with collaborating companies.

 

 

Slow Studio thanks the CTAV for the invitation and for creating spaces for dialogue that promote a more conscious, efficient architecture aligned with present-day challenges.
