Our partner Jade Serra attended the Interihotel BCN 23 Congress, the design event for hotels and restaurants, last Thursday, October 19, and Friday, October 20, where she participated in various discussion panels on new materials and technologies applied to architecture.

During the panel held on Thursday, October 19, the discussion focused on New Materiality, Forward-thinking products, curated by the Col·legi de Dissenyadors d’Interiors i Decoradors de Catalunya (CODIC). The debate featured Albert Salvia, President of CODIC-Lleida, Ignasi Llauradó from Deardesign Studio, Natalia Ojeda from Matter Group, and Jordi Cuenca from Verum Hotel Development as moderators, alongside our partner Jade Serra.

Slow Studio was directly invited by CODIC to speak about natural and healthy materials applied to the design of spaces, both in hospitality and other sectors.

The debate addressed the need to move towards materials with a closed life cycle that reduce the ecological footprint, are recoverable, and have a reduced impact on human health and the environment.

The panel on Friday, October 20, to which Slow Studio was directly invited by the Interihotel organization, revolved around the theme of Brightech and focused on understanding how new technologies applied in architecture, both at the project level and user experience level, can improve energy efficiency and the measurement of health parameters in the indoor environment.

The discussion also covered how these technologies can affect electromagnetic pollution, with a special focus on the health of indoor spaces.

Jade Serra shared this discussion panel moderated by Mireia Cervera, Hospitality & Contract strategic consultant, along with Mariel Fuentes from MMAS Lighting, Aryanour Djalali from DNA Barcelona, and Sara Folch from Sara Folch Design.
