Last November 21, the second Architecture Decarbonisation Conference was held at the COAC, organised by CSCAE and ACE-CAE, with the support of AUS.

At Slow Studio, we are part of the driving group, and our partner Jade Serra took part by moderating the afternoon session entitled Tools for a new architecture, which she opened with a talk on climate activism.

As a board member of the Agrupació AuS, Jade Serra opened the session with a talk entitled Challenges, opportunities and lessons learned for decarbonising the sector, followed by presentations by Francisco Cifuentes, founder of Aulets Arquitectes; Joan Roig, co-founder of Batlleiroig and curator of the exhibition “The New Realists”; Iñaki Alonso, co-founder of sAtt Arquitectura Triple Balance and the Ecómetro Association; Jean-Marc Moulin, Sustainability Director at the Hydro Group; Licinio Alfaro, Head of the Sustainable Construction Department at ITeC; and Sonia Hernández-Montaño, an architect specialising in health. The section concluded with Jade Serra moderating the debate and the Q&A session.

The conference was a resounding success, with 470 registered attendees.

We need to change the way we build, and architects must be the driving force behind a paradigm shift in the sector.
